When I’m really into a project, I try to get my daily routine as streamlined as possible so I don’t have to think about anything else other than the book, but that doesn’t always happen. I tend to work best in the afternoon hours, no more than a couple of hours or so, and then I either go for a long walk or a Pilates class. ![]() Sometimes we have a lovely walk and sometimes we…do not. We asked…īooking Biz: What does your average day look like? Robin was the recipient of the Seth Parkas Prize for Creative Writing when she was attending NYU in 1997. Her acclaim is no surprise since she started raking up the awards in college. Her 2017 novel FAR FROM THE TREE won the 2017 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature, the 2018 Pen America Award and was on the best-books-of-the-year lists of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, NPR, PBS, Entertainment Weekly and the Boston Globe, among others.
